50th wedding anniversary Beach syle in California

Mom and Dad celebrated 50 years of marriage. All the family came together to celebrate the awesome milestone it was.

All eight kids made it....They came from Alaska, Columbia, New Mexico and Arizona.

Grand kids came from Columbia, New Mexico, Washington, and even Afghanistan. We missed 2 grand kids who had football and cheer in Oregon.

Lisa was there in spirit. Any time we have an orb in the picture we know we've captured her loving spirit with us.

Zenobia Book Review

I finished the book! Here's my review.
I liked the heroine Zenobia and her straight forward ways. She's a joy to watch grown and learn. There are a lot of exciting parts and I don't want to give any of them away. A great story about history and you get plenty of action and adventure. There is budding romances that makes me want to get into book two, which is supposed to come out later this year. The horse race had me holding my breath the whole time. I highly recommend this book for all ages. The character may be a young girl but her search for knowledge is great for all.

Janette Rallison- my favorite author is coming out with a new book April 12th

I am looking forward to Janette Rallison's book coming out next month. I loved the story MY FAIRY FAIR GODMOTHER and am looking forward to the continued story of the mistakes and blunders of Chrissy the godmother making others lives not so easy.   Janette will be at Changing Hands Book store April 12th at 7pm to sign her book. I wish I could be there but I have to work but I'll send my wonderful mother to get the book for me. I can't wait!!!

Here is the new series that I am excited about. I read the first 3 books and they have plans for 3 more. It is a great replacement since Stephenie Meyers seems to have stopped writing all together. My new obsession the City of Bones. It is an excellent series and the author has lots of books planned. The next book I'm going to read is the prequel to the series and it looks extremely intriguing. So start reading City of Bones.. and then
Read City of Ashes and then
read City of Glass.... you will not be disappointed.... I love them.

So we are only days away before the 3rd book of Hunger Games comes out. I'm reading the first two over again with my husband. I'm on pins and needles. I'm torn on how I want it to turn out. I can't even imagine how the author will wrap up the story. I like Peeta and Gale and don't know who I want Katniss to end up with. Maybe the author is one of those that doesn't give us a happy ending and then who knows what we will get. I had been so upset when i finished book 2 the first time as we were left in the middle of the conflict not knowing what would happen next. This is a dangerous thing to do as a writer, I think. I have put a book down to never read another thing by the author again because I don't like it when they try to manipulate me to read their next book. If I'm not invested enough in the character then I don't care what happens to them . But these books I'm invested and need to know what happens to Katniss and the districts and will they over throw the Capital? So well done Suzanne Collins you've kept me wanting more. There was a time when i wanted to send her hate mail because her website didn't even say when book three was coming out. But with it only days away I'm looking forward to seeing how it all turns out.
Here's to good reads!

So here is my new addition to my family, Comet. He's a one year old white lab. I'm happy to have him as he's soften the blow of having to get rid of Kryten who will be missed. Happy Days.

In Memoriam
Lisa Martin Martel

Beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and remarkable friend. I still have Lisa in my email list and her profile had this picture. She must have picked it out as it resembles her perfectly. My blonde bubbly sister who's no longer here in person but I feel her joyous spirit with me. I know we shouldn't mourn her death but I couldn't help but think of her today. It was a year ago that she slipped from her battered body into a place with hope of life again. I think of her often wondering what's she doing now. I know when ever she can she's looking in on her beautiful daughters and grand kids. Shine on my sunshine sister.
