Happy Thanksgiving!
There is so much to be thankful for. As this year 2009 comes to an end I think of the many trials that have been endured and I'm grateful to have learned more about myself. In March I lost my oldest sister very quickly.I think of her daily. We never know that last time we will have on this earth together so we must enjoy each other while we can. Love you Lisa.
Then I had some health issues that put me in the hospital, and thank goodness for a wonderful family and husband who was there everyday so I didn't go insane sitting in a hospital bed. I have to put a special thanks out to Stacy who went above and beyond a sister's duty. You know what you did.
Then we lost Jason's Grandma this year but are so grateful we had the winter with her in Arizona. A week later Jason's Dad had a heart attack and that made us step back and think, if a healthy man like him can have issues the rest of us better be on top of our game.
Back to my first thought we never know when today will be the last day for us here. Let's live it to the fullest. I've considered this year my hell year but then again it's been a year to say i'm thankful to still be here and thankful for my health and especially thankful for my loving husband, Jason, who is my best friend.

Hunger Games series

Has anybody else read the Hunger game series? A friend suggested i read it, so i did and loved it. I got everyone else in the family to read it. Then i read the 2nd book, Catching Fire and loved it until the end. I told everyone to stop reading the books. Why you ask if i loved it so much?

The 2nd book just left me hanging. i found the authors website it didn't feed my curiousity. It doesn't even mentions that she's working on the 3rd book. I was desperate for anything to connect with the author or the charactors, i was dissapointed. I understand as authors that we want to keep them reading and buying our next book, but does anybody else hate it when a book ends with a cliff hanger?

Don't get me wrong i'll be standing in line to get book 3.

Why I am a writer

I'm one of those people who always dreamt of being an author. I wrote stories ever since I was little. I have many notebooks lying around with ideas that I've wrote over the years. I love reading many kinds of books. My favorite book to read is Princess Bride. My husband and I read it once a year together and it is always a treat. As a teenager, I remember reading Jennie Hanson's books with my sister. We were excited the day we got to meet her at a book signing. We asked her if her male characters were based off of real men. She said, "yes", and that gave us hope. I love series and one of my favorites is by Nora Roberts, The MacGregors. I also enjoy, Terry Goodkind, Wizard's First Rules. Janet Evanovich's, Stephanie Plum's series. I enjoyed reading Janet's "How I write," which has helped me. Other favorite authors of mine are: Dan Brown, David Morell, Phillipa Gregory, Joyce DiPastena, Kerry Blair...My honorable mentions are Janette Rallison and Stephenie Meyer. My mom had me read them because they were part of her ANWA writers group. I've been hooked ever since. They really inspire me and have helped me follow my dreams. I have been writing seriously for the last couple of years and completled my first book. It is still my baby and has lots of editing to do, but i'm still proud to say, "I'm a writer." And I give thanks to all the wonderful authors out there.
